  • The Track Takes Everything in Stride

All phases of a runner’s stride are NOT created equal. The makers of the Horizon T101Treadmill have addressed this by creating a unique variable resistance design for their track which flexes more when you strike and supports more when you kick off.

  • Light as a Feather, Thin as a Board

The Horizon Treadmill is ultra-convenient because it was designed and built around a feather-light hydraulic system that makes folding it as easy as pie. Once you start to lift the platform, the hydraulics kick in and do the rest. And unfolding is also a breeze. Simply release a lever, and the track will float down. Why work hard when the Horizon Treadmill does the hard work for you?

  • The Horizon Treadmill Makes It Easy to Get with the Program

With a fitness display as pleasing to the eye as it is functional, you will have all of the information you need at your fingertips to train both efficiently and scientifically. With over 90 programs including metrics for speed, incline, distance, calories, time, and heart rate measurement, and a quick start option, you will have it all beautifully displayed on the LED windowed console.

  • The Horizon Treadmill has Drive

The newly updated 2.5 continuous horsepower motor in the Horizon T101 Treadmill will keep you running at a speed of 0.5 to 10 mph. Or in layperson speak, a steady walk to a full-out run.

  • Are you Inclined to Work Harder?

The Horizon Fitness Treadmill has an incline range of 0-10% to really kick your running performance up a notch. Train harder and smarter with the incline function on the Horizon Fitness Treadmill.

  • Do You Have Heart? The Horizon Treadmill Does

It’s never been easier to see the gains you are making in your overall performance than by using the Heart Rate monitors located in the hand grips of the Horizon T101 Treadmill. These handy contact grips allow you to train to the intensity you need to get better results.

  • Warranty

The Horizon Treadmill has an excellent warranty:
    Lifetime Frame

Our Likes

There is a lot to like about the Horizon Treadmill. Sturdy and quiet, it comes equipped with many extras to help you train efficiently, safely, quietly and conveniently. Because all runners are not created equal and train for different reasons, results and events, what you like about the Horizon Treadmill will greatly depend on why and how you like to run. These are our likes.

Our Dislikes

The Horizon Fitness Treadmill has many great features that make it a great entry level treadmill. The only downside is it seems to be geared toward runners who are in the beginner to moderate range. The running speed is quite slow, capping out at 10 miles per hour, and while you can monitor your heart rate through the hand grips, some runners would prefer a chest strap option for better ease of motion and freedom of movement as they train.

  • The other thing some users commented on was the length of the track. For those users over 6’2” or with a lengthy stride, the track on the Horizon Fitness T101 comes up short for a truly comfortable stride.

Our Verdict

For beginning to intermediate runners looking for a way to maintain their training in inclement weather or more convenient times of day, the Horizon Treadmill is a great entry level treadmill. The Horizon T101 Treadmill has many wonderful features designed to make your workouts easier and more enjoyable.  With its computer console full of pre-programmed training regimes, to the easy lift hydraulic system for convenience, the Horizon Fitness Treadmill really does have everything you need to enjoy your running on your own terms, and your own time. Question & Answers

  • Q. How much room does the Horizon Treadmill take up? Does it fit well in a two bedroom apartment?

    A. The unit has a fairly large foot print. If you put it in an average 12X16 foot bedroom with a queen bed you might not have much room for anything else. If you had a spare bedroom the Horizon Treadmill might work better there depending on the room size and furniture.

  • Q. Does the Horizon Fitness Treadmill have a built-in fan?

    A. Yes, the fan in the Horizon T101 is located at the front of the unit and is fully adjustable.

  • Q. Is the Horizon Treadmill comfortable for a six-foot male to run on it?

    A. I am slightly over 6 feet and I have no problems running on the Horizon Treadmill.

Impressed with the construction

“I purchased this treadmill based on a Consumer Reports review. I was impressed with the construction. The tools provided were a T-handled and ball-ended Allen wrench. Assembly took about 30 minutes start to finish. So far, the machine has preformed smoothly. “

Customer service is very good

“Just had this product a short while. So far, so good. I have had trouble keeping the belt centered, but it doesn't seem to affect performance. I think it's because I can't level the treadmill. T101 doesn't come with a leveling feature. Customer service is very good and I would suggest you contact them after assembly. They want to make sure you get the best out of this product.”

Super impressed by the build quality

“I purchased this item October 2011, now after 1 year of daily use by 4 people (about 6 miles per day), it is still going strong, just like new! I lubricate the belt once a month and that's it, that's all I have done. I'm super impressed by the build quality of this Treadmill.”
